Judy Blake Blog Passion

Sometimes life feels a bit like you’re just trying to survive.  If you come home from work every day, tired and feeling listless, due to stress or boredom, from the ‘same old, same old’, you may find yourself asking… what is the point?  What is it that I’m living for?

The problem is we have gotten comfortable in our habits.  Many of us work so that we can afford to pay bills and maybe rest.  But then when we do get a chance to rest, we don’t feel very rewarded because ultimately rest normally just means staring at a screen.  Hardly rewarding!

So what will it take to feel alive and enthusiastic about life again?  A vacation is not going to do it long term.  Think about it… you are seriously overdue to getting back in touch with your passion for living.

It calls for a reconnection to your inner architect, and tapping into that genius within. It’s that part of you where you just know you are a natural – whatever it is that you love, you are good at, or desire most.  At one point in your life, it was a dream for you.

All of us have dreams and passions.  And at some point, these dreams and ambitions are what put you on the path you’re on now.  Your aim may have been to work that job just long enough to earn the money you need to fund a dream.  Or perhaps you’re working because you found a partner you love and you were willing to postpone your ambitions for them.

If you’ve lost the motivating reason to work, then you will most likely coast and cruise through life listlessly.

So what do you do?  DREAM, and Dream Big.  No, not a little dream like where you will take your next vacation on your budget, but a dream that pumps you up and stretches you!

Ask yourself:  Why is it that you do what you do?  Where do you see yourself in the future?  What are your beliefs and your values?  What were the things that gave you direction when you were a young teenager?  And how can you get yourself back on your happy track?

The problem is that many of us feel that our passions are ‘childish’ or possibly irresponsible.  If so, we end up just burying them for more respectable aims like ‘being area manager’. But who said that being area manager of a staple company was more respectable than being an activist or an artist?

The point is that you don’t have to give up your job or your responsibilities.  You just have to keep the burning passion alive within, so that you’re pursuing it when you can. When you do this and you remember the ‘why’, then life will once again have meaning and direction.

If you need assistance with getting in touch with that part of you that wants to not only get charged about the dream but would like the support and tools to actualize it, I invite you to take advantage of the free complimentary call to initiate the conversation.

Will you accept my invitation or will you check the TV Guide?

Success – imagine the super sweet smile on your face when you pair up thoughts of success and you!  Success means different things to different people depending on your values and priorities.  Nonetheless, it is probably safe to say that the majority of people will identify money as the primary marker of success, as it generally includes more than meeting your basic needs, but rather the means to enjoy life more freely.

Do you have what you want in your life?  Are you aware that You were born for greatness? And you have every right to have whatever it is that you want.  It is known as your birthright.  If you don’t have it – it is time you do!

So what is blocking you?  Want to know ‘what you are doing wrong’?  Let’s get to the point! It’s your mindset – the deeply ingrained patterns of automatic thoughts that are sourced in your subconscious and that unconsciously surface ‘thoughtlessly’ and effortlessly. These patterns of thought (limiting beliefs) fall primarily into the following categories:

“Not good enough” – Totally untrue but very common. Very often there is a lack of confidence, but this can be overcome with stepping into new experiences again and again.

Resistance to Change – Often associated with a fear of the unknown, resulting in a failure to explore new opportunities and missing opportunities for growth, freedom, and change for the better.

Dependencies or Co-Dependencies – This limiting belief relies on the thinking that happiness and success is outside of you, and results from behaviors or circumstances outside of our control, when personal control comes from within.

Negative Expectations – The subconscious is driving your vehicle… that would be the invisible part of you! The reasons for negative expectations may vary, but ultimately they result in creating self-fulfilling prophesies. If deep within the subconscious you believe “I can’t do that or achieve that”, then you are likely then to create just that – (sabotage) a negative outcome, or in an attempt to play it safe, you do not move past your perceived threshold. Perhaps you feel that life is a constant struggle and the next negative event is just around the corner. Releasing negative expectations is key to any form of success you may wish to achieve.

I don’t deserve – This limiting belief is one of inferiority. Because we unconsciously believe that we don’t deserve, we participate in life with low expectations for success, or often don’t even try.

Victim of Circumstances – Life doesn’t just happen TO you, but THROUGH you. Don’t get comfortable here. ‘Victims’ tend to accept unhappiness, or failure, as if it just happened ‘to’ them. It is their lack of awareness of how life really works that is missing. ‘Victims’ often feel helpless, and do not realize that they have the PERSONAL POWER to change their circumstances. As a result, they fail to take control in creating what they want, overcoming circumstances. Often many successful people fail a few times, using their failed experiences as feedback towards taking the next steps toward success.

Procrastination – Any success requires action and follow through; without it, it is simply entertainment, and you are likely to find yourself back on the treadmill of wishful thinking and excuse making, preparing to repeat the pattern.

Earning Approval for Love of Others – This is a time when it is healthy to concentrate your thoughts and focus on creating the success for you first and foremost – not for the approval of others. Doing things for the wrong reasons sacrifices your individual needs and goals for someone else’s approval that may never come to pass.

Excuses – These are the so called, “good reasons” rationalization for why certain things can’t or shouldn’t be done. You think you are doing it as an act of safety when often you are simply holding yourself back from availing an opportunity. If you want to see positive change – the excuses have to go! I call this fear!

Do any of these describe you?  If yes, then there’s some shifting that needs to be done if you want more out of life.  In whatever area you choose.  And before you catch yourself doubting or objecting… the rich people, the healthy people, and the happy people have already figured this out whether they did it deliberately or by default.

  • Think about it: What do you want that is missing in your life?
  • What is the struggle, problem, or dissatisfaction, i.e., the pain point in your life?
  • Does it have to do with relationships, health/weight, work, income, time and freedom?

If you desire something more than what you presently have, clearly it is possible as you see others living the example.

Now, before you automatically start making excuses to yourself – “don’t have the money, don’t have the time, it’s too overwhelming with everything going on in my life.”

STOP!

Catch your breath! It requires a different mindset, one in which you may have to grow into, beyond the point or place where you are. Ultimately – it leaves a gap that needs to be bridged.

One of the single most effective success-accelerators is life coaching, to bridge the gap to create the new life you wish.  It is statistically shown that those that work with a coach are 98% more effective in making the desired shifts in their lives.  A coach or mentor helps breathe life into your intentions, keeping you focused, on point while transforming them into concrete goals, and then providing you with the transformational tools and motivation you need to turn those goals into reality.

What Olympian contender, team, or little league team functions without a coach for leadership, education, and direction?  The same applies to you.  Not every life experience offers opportunities for success, therefore if you need support and optimal function – look to a transformational life coach!  YOU are worth investing in yourself – from seeing your worthiness to have what it is you want.  So many times we put our children ahead of ourselves and I am going to tell you that once you are happy, and your children witness the shift in you, the energetic dynamic in your household will improve exponentially.

As an Inner Architect… life by design Life Coach I offer a plan for maximum effectiveness in:

    • Breaking free from limiting beliefs and self-sabotage for accelerated results
    • Creating and amplifying your vision, while activating your best resources
    • Strategies for overcoming fear, doubt and worry
    • Using your current conditions as levers for achieving your goals
    • Understanding the missing and often misunderstood elements of effective goal achieving
    • Developing authentic confidence

Success and the Law of Receiving

If there was only one rule in life, for me it would have to be the Law of Receiving.

  1. Disregard the common misunderstanding that you must ‘have’ before you can give.  It’s the backward approach.  Another way of saying it is: “after I get, then I will give”… do you hear the condition-based, limited thinking in this?
  2. Remember:  Giving is the first law when creating whatever it is you want… giving always precedes reception, whether it is your thought, your word, your praise, your service, your abilities, your participation, your appreciation, your patience, etc.

Culturally, giving is most often associated with money.  However money actually represents the Law of Services.  When giving our best in useful service, concentrating on the joy of service instead of our returns, there is an optimal blend between the exchange between purpose of service and purpose of money.  Makes sense.

However, we still need to be selective between careless, impulsive giving and careful, scientific giving.  In other words, when you see someone making an effort to help himself, contribute, or step up, that is the time to assist rather than give to the one who takes little or no action, yet still expects a hand out.

  1. Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin: Can’t have one without the other.

Both are on the same continuum.  You have heard that it is better to give that to receive, but what is often left unspoken is the second half of the statement which says, “as you freely give, you freely receive”.

  1. Whether at home or in the workplace, the principal is the same:  we get what we expect; we continually draw into life what we give and expect. Generally speaking, failures are the result that our expectations did not keep pace with our desires.  Often this is due to confusion, doubt, or fear.
  1. Give with a willing spirit, without obligations or attachments.  Giving your best allows receiving the best in proportion to the degree of giving.  It’s really simple: the more you give, the more that comes back to you.  This is what is meant that the true joy is in the giving.
  1. Give regardless of your present possessions or position.  Understand that you are abundant and you live in a world of unlimited supply.  Perhaps you just need to raise your awareness and alter your belief system to accept the higher truth, which is limited by your present conditions.

THE LAW WORKS!  Upon yielding to the Law of Receiving, and adopting its premise, you may move from a good life to an even greater, more meaningful life, expecting all results in the areas you wish to realize, use, and enjoy, without doubt or fear.

This is a perfect opportunity to share (give) and inspire others with an example where this has been true for you.

Make it a Great Day!

Design Your Destiny

Decisions, Decisions, Decisions. Care to guess how many decisions we make in a single day?

Though there is no way that this can be accurately measured, according to the Internet, adult decisions average approximately 35,000 per day. Just the thought of it makes me tired. Many decisions are very mundane and meaningless, from the time we decide to awaken to our choices of toothbrush, paste, mouthwash, flavors, breakfast and on and on all day long.

The decisions that involve a thoughtful choice between two alternatives can ultimately change the course of our lives, our businesses, states of being, relationships, career paths, income investments, and our health. It is about how we make them, or in many cases… NOT. These are the kind that can make or break life’s direction, our well-being and that of our families who depend on our ability to make sound decisions.

Wherever you are at this moment in time is the result of your decision making… our environment is our mirror. Many are successful as they have mastered the art of decision-making, and well, others are still vacillating in a sea of ambivalence, resulting in life’s difficulties. We’ve all been there and know this feeling.

The successful decision makers are generally those with higher self-esteem and a strong positive self-image. Their self-confidence makes for strong, sound decisions.

According to Bob Proctor, one of the most renowned leaders in personal growth and success, states: DECIDE RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE WITH WHATEVER YOU GOT.

The bottom line: once you make a decision, and commit to it, (regardless of circumstances) then all that is required for its fruition begins to start showing up. Before you object to what may sound Pollyann-ish, or foreign to your personal experience, note that some of the greatest thinkers and leaders like Edison subscribe to this model.

To Design your Destiny: make the decision to achieve your dream, discover the action steps, follow through with discipline, and ultimately… destiny.

Next time someone tells you they want to purchase something, but they can’t get it or have it because they don’t have the money, etc., tell them first to MAKE THE DECISION. The mind is very powerful, and answers and money will come as they will always figure out a way, and as long as there is willingness and commitment, just don’t quit! That, too, is a decision!

On a personal note: As a separated, in-the-midst of an unsettled divorce, single parent, I was scheduled to present a contract for the purchase of a house but at the last minute, I saw a house that just went on the market that was perfect for my new start and direction in life. I quickly cancelled the presentation of that contract and shifted gears.

That same day, a more desirable cash buyer also bid on the property. From everyone else’s perspective – I did not stand a chance of getting that house, but what I didn’t know at the time, was that the attorney for the seller was my sister-in-law’s former employer and he recognized the name. From there on, it was smooth sailing. I got the perfect house! At the time, I could have never imagined anything like that. It was Destiny!

Have an experience to share where a decision that seemed improbable came together? Please do.

Make it a Great Day!

Feeling stuck?  Toilet paper on the bottom of your shoe?  A traffic jam, perhaps? Stuck between a rock and a hard place?  Many variations of the same; bottom line… there’s literally a lack of progressive movement, a lack of flow much like trying to move through molasses or between choices.  We can spin our wheels all we want, but without a decision as to which action to take, we are not going anywhere.

What underlies stuckness is the inability to make a decision, and behind that?  The infamous four letter ‘F word’… Fear!  OK, now we are getting somewhere.

According to Nora Roberts: “If you don’t go after what you want, you will never have it; If you do not ask, the answer is always no. And if you don’t step forward you are always in the same place.”

  • So ask yourself… where are you stuck?
  • What decision are you NOT making that could make a significant difference in your life?
  • What’s holding you back?
  • What are you afraid of?
  • What part of you longs to be expressed or seen?
  • How do you want to feel?
  • Where might you be settling for less than what you deserve?
  • How are you being asked to grow?
  • What will that take for you to operate at your greatness?

Get real with yourself and name what it is you want!  We can’t have everything, but we certainly can have what we want!  And that’s the real truth.

Be brave, comment below, and let’s untangle & tango with your truth.  It is my aim to support all who cross this way by providing tools and strategies to name what you want and get it!  Life is yours to be fully expressed!

Make it a great day!
