Two months into the New Year and two months deeper in the trenches of northern winters… How are you doing so far?

Review, reflect and reignite!  Each day accumulates and contributes to an improved way of being.  Think of it as “tweaking you”.

Be the change starting today.

  • My health matters to me.
  • My life is precious.
  • I fulfill my potential and spend as many years as possible with my loved ones.
  • I form healthy habits that promote my physical and mental well-being.

With healthy habits, taking good care of myself becomes automatic.

  • I exercise regularly.
  • I visit the gym or ride my stationery bicycle at home.
  • I develop a list of activities that I enjoy so that I am prepared for any kind of weather or time crunch.
  • I find the best time of day for me to squeeze a workout or a walk into my schedule.

I incorporate more activity into my daily routine.

  • I climb the stairs instead of riding the elevator.
  • I do some squats or stretching while waiting for my morning coffee to brew.

I eat a nutritious diet.

  • I choose foods that support my health and well-being.
  • I choose whole foods.
  • I choose low sugar drinks and snacks.

I make time for adequate sleep and relaxation.

  • I follow the recommendations of my health care team.
  • I talk with professionals I trust about the latest studies and news so I can apply the information to my own needs.
  • I consciously choose stress-free activities.

Today, I pick up new habits that help me to take better care of my body and mind.

  • I choose the areas that are my top priorities and make positive changes that prepare me for a longer and more rewarding life.

Self-Reflection Questions:
  1. What is one healthy habit I could start working on today?
  2. What are my personal reasons for wanting to be healthier?
  3. How can I ask my loved ones for the support I need to follow a healthy lifestyle?

Self Love and Greatness

I am seeing graphics of this nature more and more online. We are frequently being reminded to say “I love me”… so ‘whas up’ with that?

Despite all the ways society has become self involved, accustomed to primping at spas, going to concerts, out to dinners, etc., many still struggle with honoring or loving themselves at a deeper, soul level. The very juice or life force that enables one to thrive, has instead been focused in directions that do not satisfy long term, and ironically, becomes depleted.

Coming from a large family of 5 siblings, I was raised to share just about everything: from my room, to toys, clothes, and treats. I recall frequently walking to the local candy store with 10 cents and buying the penny candy; mint juleps and red dollars 2 for 1 and then passing them all out. That was common. From the time we were little we were told to think of others, be good to others, and operate from the belief that it is better to give than to receive. That was part of the early childhood programming.

It’s all good, but somewhere in there, the “I love me” muscle was neglected. It was more deeply embedded than it was far better to be a ‘good’ girl or boy, and to obey our elders, without question. As a result, the subconscious program becomes more other focused, failing to nurture the inner self and setting up a life-long pattern of others’ needs taking precedence over ourselves.

Self-love often feels out of character.

It begs the question, how do we fully achieve a great life if we do not fully love ourselves, often subliminally coupled with a lack of deserving? Lets face it, with all the addictions and dysfunctions in society, it has become an epidemic. But on a very simple level, let’s begin with recognizing the fact that it is quite healthy to love oneself first, thereby balancing the natural flow of giving AND receiving, and honoring our innate design within. We day by day reprogram the data in our own hard drive. In other words… ME FIRST!

News Flash! We are born to thrive and self express as greatness. YEAH!! But how? Much too lengthy to respond here, however, in my daily jumpstart I have a daily activity for you to start exercising that “I love me” muscle to shift that old paradigm. Just click on the Box to download, take some time to yourself, make a commitment, and start making it a habit.

When you begin to feel a full, deep love in your heart – you are connected to your divine source of love and at that point it is pure. And when you offer that purity of heart to yourself and then to someone by saying I love you – it is a very generous gift, one without any agenda and expectations.

What an absolute Joy!

Make it a GREAT day,
