Reflections and Affirmations of Love

Man’s most basic need is to be loved and truth be told, many do not love themselves.  To receive real love we have to BE LOVE.  And in this position of self-love, we magnetize what we are.  We see this most readily in infants and even animals, but as time passes, many blocks accumulate.

Repeat these affirmations daily.

Begin today:

Genuine love comes to me effortlessly.

My heart is full of love.

Easily and effortlessly, I am able to show others my affection for them.  My natural warmth is returned to those around me.  I am grateful for how all of this goodness shows up for me when I show up.

Because I know that the universe surrounds me with love at every possible opportunity, I keep my eyes open for all the ways in which this happens to me and around me.  It could look like a hand gently on my shoulder, a friend may listen with deep compassion, or my children may give me a hug that just sings with love.

I attract love in many unexpected ways.

I may be without a partner for some time when someone I have already met shows up again in my life, brimming with genuine love, and ready to share that with me.  Or I may face a challenging situation in a relationship, and watch that person come through for me in a way I could never have predicted.

These showings of affection and kindness flow effortlessly outward from me.  I trust that I have the right words to bring comfort to a friend in need or to show my love to my partner.  These words and gestures are authentically ‘me’.  By being loving, I know that I am being genuine; I know that love is the core of all of us.

Today, I am deeply grateful for genuine love that comes to me with ease.

Every action I take is born from my essentially kind nature.

I am in awe each day by the genuine love that is returned to me by others.

Reflections:

  1. How do my family and friends show their love to me?  How can I show love to them?
  2. Who do I know in my life who would benefit from an intentional outpouring of my love for them?

Self Love and Greatness

I am seeing graphics of this nature more and more online. We are frequently being reminded to say “I love me”… so ‘whas up’ with that?

Despite all the ways society has become self involved, accustomed to primping at spas, going to concerts, out to dinners, etc., many still struggle with honoring or loving themselves at a deeper, soul level. The very juice or life force that enables one to thrive, has instead been focused in directions that do not satisfy long term, and ironically, becomes depleted.

Coming from a large family of 5 siblings, I was raised to share just about everything: from my room, to toys, clothes, and treats. I recall frequently walking to the local candy store with 10 cents and buying the penny candy; mint juleps and red dollars 2 for 1 and then passing them all out. That was common. From the time we were little we were told to think of others, be good to others, and operate from the belief that it is better to give than to receive. That was part of the early childhood programming.

It’s all good, but somewhere in there, the “I love me” muscle was neglected. It was more deeply embedded than it was far better to be a ‘good’ girl or boy, and to obey our elders, without question. As a result, the subconscious program becomes more other focused, failing to nurture the inner self and setting up a life-long pattern of others’ needs taking precedence over ourselves.

Self-love often feels out of character.

It begs the question, how do we fully achieve a great life if we do not fully love ourselves, often subliminally coupled with a lack of deserving? Lets face it, with all the addictions and dysfunctions in society, it has become an epidemic. But on a very simple level, let’s begin with recognizing the fact that it is quite healthy to love oneself first, thereby balancing the natural flow of giving AND receiving, and honoring our innate design within. We day by day reprogram the data in our own hard drive. In other words… ME FIRST!

News Flash! We are born to thrive and self express as greatness. YEAH!! But how? Much too lengthy to respond here, however, in my daily jumpstart I have a daily activity for you to start exercising that “I love me” muscle to shift that old paradigm. Just click on the Box to download, take some time to yourself, make a commitment, and start making it a habit.

When you begin to feel a full, deep love in your heart – you are connected to your divine source of love and at that point it is pure. And when you offer that purity of heart to yourself and then to someone by saying I love you – it is a very generous gift, one without any agenda and expectations.

What an absolute Joy!

Make it a GREAT day,
